The website of the Cape Cod Foundation features Three Bays Preservation, Inc., of Barnstable, and a $2,500 grant it received from the Foundation in the fall of 2006 to “conduct a site survey and topographic layout of the cranberry bogs at the Santuit Pond Preserve” in Mashpee and Barnstable.
Founded in 1996, Three Bays Preservation was formed by a group of Barnstable residents to “address the troubling problems of pollution in our beloved Cotuit, North, and West Bays, as well as the rapid erosion of the barrier beaches of Dead Neck/ Sampson's Island.” The organization maintains an active website, replete with press clippings, scientific reports, and The Three Bays Monitor newsletter.
