“MEPA Reviewing Town Request for Comprehensive Dredge Permit"
The Cape Cod Chronicle, June 12, 2008
By William F. Galvin
William Galvin reports that the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act Office (MEPA) is reviewing the town of Harwich’s request for a comprehensive permit to dredge several waterways and use the material to nourish coastal beaches along a four-mile stretch of Nantucket Sound. Owners of private beaches will be able to obtain dredged sand from the town by obtaining a permit from the Harwich Conservation Commission and paying a fee.
For a detailed description of the project, please read the MEPA Environmental Notification Form (ENF).
