“Hyannis Stop & Shop Project Approved"
Cape Cod Times, June 13, 2008
By Patrick Cassidy
Patrick Cassidy reports that the Cape Cod Commission approved a proposal to relocate the Stop & Shop store from Independence Drive to Route 132. Pending approval by Barnstable town officials, the project, which consists of a new store, parking lot, and connector road, will consume twelve acres of land. However, as a form of mitigation, the developer "has agreed to purchase a four-acre parcel on Route 28 and give it to the town for open space and a planned bicycle path."
